October will bring a lot of new content to the Disney Plus platform, which will add to those already in the catalog. Let’s find out some of them

Brand new contents will arrive on the Disney Plus platform in the next few days, further increasing a catalog already full of entertainment. October will also be the month of Black History Month, the anniversary established to celebrate the importance of people and events in the history of the African diaspora. Disney also wanted to participate in this anniversary, through some films that tell the life and incredible stories of African American artists, scientists and sportsmen.

The gripping series reveals the man behind the iconic baseball player Derek Jeter. From his arrival in New York, in a period of great changes, until reaching success in the New York Yankees. The story traces his incredible career, following his growth.

Candy: Death in Texas | Disney Plus October

1980, Candy Montgomery is a housewife who has always lived in the best possible way. She has a good husband, two children, a beautiful home and lives through careful planning and execution of transgressions. As the woman begins to feel the pressure of conformity, she will begin to feel a greater push towards freedom, with fatal consequences.

The film explores how black actresses, at first a neglected and little-regarded group in the Hollywood film industry, have managed to make their way into the world of American entertainment and culture.

Disney Plus has decided to celebrate the Black History Month, through the story of the lives of singers, actors, athletes, visionaries and creatives, who have made the black community a prominent social group in American history. Here are some titles:

The true story of Antetokounmpo laughed

Based on a true story, it tells of the family that generated the first trio of brothers who became NBA champions in the American basketball league: Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Kostas Antetokounmpo of the Los Angeles Lakers, followed by their younger brother Alex.

The right to count

The Right to Count tells of Katherine Johnson, Dortohy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, three brilliant African American scientists who worked at NASA in the early 1960s. Their life at work is by no means easy in a white-dominated environment.

Summer of Soul

The film focuses on the Harlem Cultural Festival, the musical event and more, lasting six weeks, which took place in the summer of 1969. The festival attracted thousands of people who were able to attend the celebration of history, culture, music and fashion of African Americans.
