Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: the plot and the cast
For the occasion, let’s briefly review the plot of the film. We find the sorcerer after what happened in Spiderman: No Way Home, where Strange saved the multiverse along with Peter Parker’s sacrifice. Now, however, the sorcerer finds himself having to deal with the consequences of what he lived and will know better the secrets and mysteries of the multiverse, the great theme that is slowly emerging in the narrative universe of Marvel.
The film however also addresses the consequences of what happened to Wanda Maximoff in the Wandavision series, also available on Disney +. Wanda is literally destroyed after the loss of her illusory reality and is determined to win it back, at the cost of performing extreme feats. The transformation of her into Scarlet Witch will lead the woman to clash with the sorcerer.
In the film, therefore, we find many well-known faces from the Marvel universe, from Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen as Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch, to Benedict Wong and Rachel McAdams as Wong and Christine Palmer. Among the new entries we find Xochitl Gomez who plays the young woman America Chavez.
