The film Dune, is nominated for the 2022 Oscars, except for the nomination, of best director, of which Denis Villenueuve himself sees and talks about its positive sides

Except for one nomination for best director, where Denis Villeneuve, (director in question) reveals the positive side.
Denis Villeneuve sees the positive side of the vicenza, in reality he is not so sorry and sorry about the fact that Dunehis film was not nominated for Oscar 2022 for best director, excluded from the five directors already nominated. And this he confesses directly in a recent interview with Variety, who was asked how he felt about it, even though Dune was still nominated for Best Picture.
Villeneuve’s response to Variety
The director’s response was therefore the following:
It is better to be in this position than the other way around. I prefer people to say: you should have been, instead of what the hell are you doing there?
I’m not making the film to get recognition, that’s not the goal. If you do it for that goal you are not on the right path, in my humble opinion, I make cinema because I deeply love the art form of cinema, I love making films. If there is recognition after that, of course, it is a blessing and an advantage. There is a voice inside me that says it’s okay to stay hungry, and as a director I think I’ll be able to digest movies as long as I feel I can be better.
Indeed Denis Villeneuve said he was enthusiastic and happy that Dune was named in so many categories, adding:
If you had told me a year ago that we were going to get 10 nominations, including Best Picture, I would have laughed and said, are you out of your mind? That’s 10 nominations, all I can say is thanks to the movie gods and thanks to the Academy, let’s have a glass of champagne to celebrate
Furthermore, Villeneuve has stated that his Dune part two will be much more cinematic than the first part.
