The tree grows first: the Elden Ring DLC, the highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree, may have been anticipated according to a leak
The release date of Shadow of the Erdtreefirst expansion for Elden Ringcould be at the center of a leak that sees anticipated the long awaited DLC of the previous game of the year. Philippine retail site Datablitz’s page for the expansion has been taken down, but not before the ever-vigilant Wario64 reposted screenshots of it in the tweet below. The site mentioned a third-party controller as a collaboration between the publisher Bandai Namco and the third-party manufacturer Thrustmaster. And the release of the device, scheduled for next February, was supposed to “coincide with the release of the new expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.” Streisand effect guaranteed?

Early release for the most coveted DLC: Shadow of the Erdtree coming to Elden Ring as early as February?
Future collaborations cannot be ruled out, but beyond the controllers for Malenia and Ranni the side note speaks of the latter defining them as “synchronized with the new expansions of Elden Ring”, implying that Shadow of the Erdtree has not only been anticipated but it’s not even the only DLC. The announcement of the expansion dates back, ironically, to last February, and not much has been known about it since then. The only shadow of doubt about the leak concerns the absence of the announcement among many of the latest Game Awards. On the other hand, however, after the invasion of the field it wouldn’t be surprising if Hidetaka Miyazaki wanted to take a break. Isn’t accepting an award on stage “the Dark Souls of game development”?
