In this guide of ours we will provide you with a series of practical tips on where to find the spells in the brand new Elden Ring
If in these days you have decided to dive into your personal exploration of the Interregnum, we are here to help you. From Software’s brand new and highly anticipated title has finally made its debut on consoles and PC, with its load of new mechanics that players will have to learn to deal with if they are to survive while fighting as the Lightless. In a previous article we had already talked about how to use the spells present in Elden Ring, and now here are some tips on where to find the spells in the game.
It’s a kind of magic
If you are a beginner with Soulslike you may find yourself blown away by the many mechanics that this genre of titles requires to master. Elden Ring is certainly no exception, and in addition to the paraphernalia, it will be necessary to understand where to find and how to use the numerous spells present in the game. Similar to some earlier Souls, magic is divided into two large subsets: Spells and Sorcery. The former are based on the Faith stat, and offer healing and defense powers, while the latter are based on the Intelligence stat, and will be mainly of an offensive nature.
A Haunted Trade – Elden Ring: Where to Find Spells
In the Interregnum, the game world where the story of Elden Ring takes place, you will find the spells more or less randomly by continuing the adventure, or by purchasing them from specific retailers. The latter, as can be easily understood, will be specialized in the sale of Witchcraft or Spells, and depending on what you will need, it will therefore be necessary to go to the right seller. Keep in mind that, before you can trade with some of these NPCs, you may need to complete a quest, and it is equally likely that certain outcomes of those quests may instead block you forever from accessing some retailers.
For example, you can buy Offensive Sorcery from Rogier in Storm Storm Castle, from Sellen in the Ruins along the Sepulcris Road, from Seluvi near the Spire of Ranni, from Thops in the Church of Irith. If you are looking for support spells you will find instead from Corhyn in the Rock of the Round Table and from D near the Village of Hydrocanto. You can also obtain Spells by trading with Gurranq in the Beast Sanctuary, delivering dragon hearts to the Dragon Communion Church, or by defeating the Knight of the Crucible, and other specific bosses.
Books and Scrolls – Elden Ring: where to find spells
Once you have decided what kind of spells to delve into and discovered where to find the right NPCs to purchase them, know that the things to do to deepen the magic in Elden Ring do not end there. In fact, to begin with, it will be possible to replenish the “shelves” of your trusted sellers, in such a way as to have a wider choice of Sorcery and Spells. In the game world, it may happen that you find Scrolls of Witchcraft or Books of Prayer. These, if delivered to the aforementioned vendors, will substantially expand the choice of purchasable spells.
Spells, to be used, must first be stored in the appropriate slots, which you can do while you stop at a Site of Grace. Initially the number of these slots will be rather limited (you will start the adventure with only two spaces), and if you want to have a greater amount of spells ready to use, it will be necessary to increase the available spaces accordingly. This is possible thanks to the Stones of Memory, rather rare objects that can be found in the game world by defeating some bosses. The Moon talisman of Nokstella could also be very useful for this purpose.
Useful Talismans – Elden Ring: where to find spells
Knowing where to find new spells is therefore often not enough if you want to learn how to make the most of magic in Elden Ring. In fact, there are a whole series of objects that can greatly help players who are determined to master this powerful art. In addition to the aforementioned Books, Scrolls and Memory Stones, during your exploration of the Interregnum you will be able to get hold of several magical Talismans, which we advise you not to neglect if you want to have a few more chances to survive.
Examples include: the Horn of the Ancestral Spirit, which allows you to recover Focus Points by defeating enemies; the Darkmoon Greatsword, a weapon that refers to Intelligence (useful if you are already developing this statistic to become a sorcerer but you want a weapon to combine to defend yourself physically as well); Remembrance of the Queen of the Full Moon, which allows you to obtain a powerful magic or a precious scepter. These are just a few examples, in the game there will be many others, obtainable by completing side quests, exploring, and defeating certain enemies.
Without tricks, without deceptions
As we learned in this guide, spells can be of great help to get out of any situation. By its very nature, there are many things that the title will not tell you (or at least don’t expect in-depth tutorials as in the case of other games), so our advice is to always be ready for anything, preparing thoroughly before proceeding. .
