Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 is approaching: the big launch event will be held in the “home” of Samsung, a Seoulin South Korea, and new foldable devices are expected to be unveiled, including Galaxy Z Fold 5 e Galaxy Z Flip 5. But it looks like there may be surprises on the way: tablets, smartwatches and maybe even other smartphones besides the foldables. The news arriving this summer seem many and interesting: here’s everything we know about Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2023.
Galaxy Unpacked 2023, everything we know about the Samsung event
Galaxy Unpacked is the name given by Samsung at its mobile device launches, including phones, tablets, smart watches and audio devices. Typically, there are two Unpacked events a year: one in early spring to showcase the new Galaxy S flagship phones, and one in late summer. The latter event was previously dedicated to the Galaxy Note phablet, but in recent years, Samsung has used it to showcase i its innovative foldable phones.
The first Galaxy Unpacked of the year took place in February, showcasing the Galaxy S23 range of phones alongside new Galaxy Book 3 laptops, including the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra and Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360. Since then, Samsung has released more products, such as the Galaxy A54, “ladies” of the mid-range. But with the next Galaxy Unpacked 2023, the Korean company wants to launch many mobile innovations all together: as we will see, not only leaflets but also smartwatches, tablets and perhaps even more.
When will the event take place and how to follow it
Samsung announced the date and time of the next event Galaxy Unpacked 2023set for the July 26 at 7:00am ET/4:00am PT. This will be a special event as it will take place at SeoulSouth Korea, for the first time.
Samsung already knows it can amaze you with ads, so much so that it has launched a promotion. Until July 25th, you can register on Samsung.com with your name and email address to get a credit of up to 1000 euros on devices announced on 26 July.
The live feed for the July 26 event is not yet available, Samsung will be streaming the event on its website, newsroom and YouTube channel.
Galaxyu Unpacked 2023: What products will Samsung announce from Seoul?
Looking at the graphics of the event and the claim “Join the Flip Side”, it seems almost certain that Samsung will likely show updated foldables – but it seems likely to show other devices as well. Let’s take a look at what devices the company might announce and what information we have about the products. But let’s underline: these are all unconfirmed rumors, which may not correspond to what the company will announce on July 26th. For certainty, we’ll have to wait for Galaxy Unpacked 2023.
Galaxy Z Fold 5
Galaxy Fold and Flip 4th generation (2022)
The rumors circulating mainly concern the Galaxy Z Fold 5which looks set to receive a chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to improve performance and energy efficiency. This should improve not only performance but also battery life, which with such a large screen display becomes essential.
It is not yet clear if there will be improvements to the camera, although it seems that we will see a triple sensor from 50 + 12 + 12 megapixels. But the design of the phone is expected to undergo major changes, becoming thinner, lighter and with a new, more resistant hinge. To achieve this result, however, it seems that the Fold 5 will no longer have the S-Pen slot that its predecessor had.
The screen should measure 7.6 inches inside, a very high resolution AMOLED and 120Hz of refresh rates. Instead, on the outside we will see a 6.2-inch AMOLED display in HD +. The battery should be from 4.400mAh and with 25W charging.
Galaxy Z Flip 5
Galaxy Flip 4
Il Galaxy Z Flip 5the smaller and less expensive brother of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, will probably be equipped with the chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 per Galaxy and will benefit from an improved hinge. One of the key features of the Flip 5 will be the external display, which could increase from 1.9 to 3.4 inches, allowing users to multitask without having to open the phone. The cameras should be arranged horizontally and almost “surrounded” by the screen, which becomes larger and more useful.
The chip is supposed to increase battery life by 3,700mAh, while the “drop” hinge should facilitate folding of the device, making it more functional. Given the claim of the event, the Flip should have a leading role: Samsung will announce several advanced functions with the two screens of the smartphone, which we can’t wait to know in detail on July 26 at Galaxy Unpacked 2023.
Galaxy Tab S9
Galaxy Tab 8 Ultra
According to the WinFuture report, the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event may include the unveiling of new ones tablet Samsung. It appears that there will be three models: the Tab S9 base, the Tab S9 Plus and the Ultra edition, all probably equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and OLED panels. These tablets may look like their predecessors, but the Tab S9 Plus could update the 50MP main camera, inspired by Galaxy S23 phones.
The battery should reach 8,000mAh for the basic and plus models, which would have a screen diagonal of 11 inches. The magnetized band for the S-Pen and the elegant design that Samsung has decided for its top-of-the-range tablets remain.
Galaxy Watch 6
Another product we should see at Seoul’s Galaxy Unpacked 2023 is the Galaxy Watch 6, Samsung’s new smartwatch. It seems that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 will be available in two different sizes: 40 mm e 44 mm. The 40mm model will have a screen 1.31 inch Sapphire Super AMOLED, while the 44 mm one will have a larger display, always Super AMOLED, with a diagonal of 1.47 inches. Both models are expected to have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, with processor support Exynos W930.
One of the main differences between the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic should be the presence of a rotating bezel on the Classic model.
Galaxy Buds 3
Galaxy Buds 2 Pro
It also seems that Samsung may launch new earphones, i Galaxy Buds 3. At the moment there is not much information about it. But we expect an update more of a revolution, with new chips and improvements in functionality.
However, some recent rumors suggest that the headphones may not be at Unpacked, because the Buds 2 Pro remain able to compete with the latest products left by other brands. We just have to wait for July 26 to understand it.
Other products (less likely)
If these products seem confirmed by more rumors, there are others that have been discussed by the corridor rumors, but which seem unlikely a week before the launch event. As a can Samsung mixed reality headset which announced a collaboration with Qualcomm for the XR in February. But that she wouldn’t seem ready to challenge Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s Quest right now.
Someone mentioned a possible launch per lo smartphone Galaxy S23 FE, a less expensive version of Samsung’s flagship. However, with the Galaxy A54 garnering good reviews and selling well, it seems unlikely that the company would want to place another product in the same price range.
Samsung may surprise us: but we expect that at Galaxy Unpacked 2023 we will not see these last two (or other) products. Folders, tablets, smartwatches and earphones should fill the event – perhaps with some software news and some customization of the BeSpoke line.
But we’ll find out everything on July 26: if you can’t follow the streaming event, we’ll tell you everything with our in-depth articles and on our social networks.
