Vin Diesel, during the world premiere of Fast X, would have let slip the arrival of Fast and Furious 12 in the saga, to be considered the third part of a trilogy formed by Fast X and Fast 11
We told you a few days ago that the eleventh feature film will be the last chapter of the long saga starring Vin Diesel. However, the actor himself would have declared in the last few hours, in conjunction with the world premiere of Fast Xthat the truth could be another and that there could be a Fast and Furious 12. According to what was declared by Vin Diesel during the world preview – held yesterday, May 12, in Rome – however, a 12th film could be on the way, to be considered as the final act of a trilogy. These are his words:
As they were starting to make this film, the studio asked us if it could be split into two parts. And after seeing the movie, they asked us, “Could you make Fast X, the finale, a trilogy?
Fast and Furious 12 if it will?
To echo the actor’s words were those of his colleague Michelle Rodriguez, who said: in every story there are three acts. Universal Pictures, producer of the project, at the moment has not commented on the declaration of the two stars and, in the first hours after the fact, Vin Diesel distanced himself from what was declared, not confirming the news and declining further questions with a laconic “You will get me in trouble“. Justin Lin, screenwriter of Fast X and the next Fast 11, had conceived his story as divided into two chapters and therefore it is probable that the narration could end with a third chapter, the last part of an epic concluding trilogy of a franchise that started twenty years ago.
Directed by Louis Letterier, Fast X will tell of Dom Toretto’s attempt to save his “family” from the attacks of the cyber-terrorist Chiper (Charlize Theron), who has joined forces with a fearsome new villain, Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa). Many well-known faces from the franchise will return: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, John Cena and Jason Statham. Fast X then sanctions the return of Helen Mirren, already appeared in some chapter of the saga. Fast 11 should instead revolve around the clash between Dom and a tech mogul, which is rumored to be Robert Downey Jr. All that remains is to wait for any confirmation of the arrival of Fast & Furious 12.
