Ferrari F300 schumacher auction for 4.9 million dollars

It’s not every day that a Ferrari F300 is put up for auction, let alone the one driven by Schumacher. DuPont is putting it up for sale for wealthy fans of the Prancing Horse Registrywhich offers this 1998 F300, with an impressive racing history, for the record price of 4.9 million dollars.

According to what is learned from the auction site, this particular F300 was driven by Schumacher in second place at the 1998 Luxembourg Grand Prix at the Nurburgring circuit. F1 fans will remember that Schumacher conquered the pole position in qualifying for that race, beating Mika Häkkinen, who qualified third in his McLaren-Mercedes. Häkkinen would win, resulting in a dramatic battle for the 1998 championship that saw its epilogue in Suzuka at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Ferrari F300, a car at auction that cost Schumacher the title in 1998

This same Ferrari F300 at auction was driven by Schumacher in the “nefarious” GP of Japan, where the German driver gave good hope for a final victory, as he had secured pole position once again. However, during the race, a tire failure, after hitting some debris on the track, forced him to retire, giving Häkkinen victory and the 1998 F1 World Championship.

Details on how the car currently stands are not provided. In racing trim, thea F300 used the 3.0-liter Ferrari 047D V10 engine, which developed around 800 horsepower north of 17,000 rpm. It was the beginning of Ferrari’s V10 era, but that became the basis for Ferrari and Schumacher to absolutely dominate Formula 1 until the first half of the 2000s.

Certainly being able to afford to have any Ferrari F1 car in your garage is something special. Finding one driven by Schumacher certainly increases its value even more.
