Today Square Enix unveiled some of his to the public plans for the future of Final Fantasy XIV, including the reopening of sales of new copies of the game. Due to massive server congestion due to the launch of the Endwalker expansion, Square Enix was forced to suspend sales of the game for about a month. Final Fantasy XIV returns later this month
Square Enix revealed to its audience that Final Fantasy XIV will return later this month. New players will be able to purchase the game again starting in January 25. Naoki Yoshida however, he said the team expects more congestion problems over the next few weeks.
There is therefore the possibility of sales are interrupted again. Instead, regarding server congestion issues, Square Enix revealed that unfortunately they will remain. However, according to what the company revealed, the situation is getting better and, similarly to that, also announced a server expansion.
In fact, during the summer, the first part of the operation linked to theincrease in the number of servers. Regarding this, the company has also revealed a few more details about the server development plans: its goal is to increase server capacity in Europe, Japan and North America. In Europe, for example, the increase in servers has been split into two parts.
Four new worlds will arrive in the summer of 2022 and other eight are planned for 2023. Square Enix has unfortunately revealed that at the moment it is impossible to speed up the operation due to the lack of semiconductors but things are expected to improve over the months.
