Formlabs, a leader in 3D printing, announced at CES 2022 the launch of the Form 3+ and Form 3B + printers, its fastest 3D printers, available for shipping worldwide from today. These printers are the result of three years of work to dramatically improve the company’s patented Low Force Stereolithography technology, first introduced in 2019 with the printers. Form 3 and Form 3B, which quickly became the best-selling professional SLA 3D printers on the market. These new releases feature advanced hardware and software updates that significantly improve print speed, print quality and media removal and provide an overall better user experience.
Formlabs is committed to continually improving and refining the user experience of its products and has designed the Form 3+ and Form 3B + with workflow speed, quality and efficiency in mind. The Form 3+ e the Form 3B + harnesses powerful, high-intensity lasers and new material settings to optimize laser exposure and print up to 40% faster than previous models.
Along with the launch of the Form 3+ and Form 3B + Formlabs is also announcing the next-generation Build Platform 2, which uses patented Quick Release Technology and a flexible print surface to instantly release parts from the build platform. Users can quickly and easily remove parts from the print surface without using additional tools in seconds, eliminating the need to scrape parts off the build platform, making the post-processing process more efficient and avoiding damage to parts.
Formlabs also announced ESD Resin, the company’s first static dissipative material developed for applications that require ESD-safe parts to protect objects and electronic components that are sensitive to uncontrolled ESD. With this new resin, Formlabs opens up new 3D printing applications in the electronics, automotive and aerospace manufacturing industries with one of the few affordable, strong, high-quality, and ESD-safe materials in the SLA 3D printing industry.
This expansion of Formlabs’ line of printers and materials library demonstrates the company’s commitment to creating an ecosystem of hardware, software and materials that will further its mission to expand access to digital manufacturing. With over 90,000 printers sold, there are more Formlabs printers installed worldwide than any other professional 3D printing company on the market. This success is a result of Formlabs’ focus on delivering on its promise to create best-in-class 3D printers, materials and software that are affordable and easy to use.
Max Lobovsky, Formlabs CEO and co-founder, said: “Formlabs created the professional desktop printer market and our Form 3 became a best-seller. The Form 3+ is the next iteration, designed to help users go from idea to holding the part as quickly and easily as possible. With Build Platform 2, we’ve improved the entire 3D printing workflow to make creation easier than ever. The adoption of 3D printing relies on the technology’s ability to be easy to use and fast. Every piece of hardware we create is in line with this standard to ensure that anyone can walk up to a printer and start creating ”.
