FUJIFILM presents FUJINON Duvo24-300mm, the first portable broadcast zoom lens in the Duvo range
FUJINON Duvo24-300mm, the “Duvo Portable”, is a broadcast zoom lens and is the second model in the Duvo series that produces the much desired cinematic look with beautiful bokeh combined with the operation and ease of use typical of broadcast lenses. FUJINON Duvo24-300mm is a portable “Dual Format” lens that supports two different formats of large image sensors. It thus produces cinematic visual expressions characterized by a shallow depth of field and beautiful bokeh.
The new addition of a compact and portable lens lightweight to the Duvo line will allow high mobility in live event coverage sports, musical concerts, documentaries and nature cinematography.
Fujiflm presents Fujinon Duvo 24-300: new broadcast zoom lens
Today, cameras equipped with large image sensors are increasingly used in the broadcast industry to meet the growing need for immersive cinematic expressions involving shallow depth of field, bokeh and high dynamic range. Currently, cinema lenses are commonly used for these applications, however these are optimized for shooting scripted productions and therefore have a lower zoom magnification ratio than broadcast lenses. They also often require a technical focus puller for focusing operations, which is rare in the broadcast industry.
FUJINON Duvo24-300mm offers a 12.5x zoom that covers the focal range of 24-300mm, the most used on sets, with a compact and lightweight sizing, with 270.5mm in length and 2.95kg in weight. This design ensures high mobility in all types of live productions, including sporting events and music concerts. Additionally, the lens can be used as a broadcast lens using zoom and focus demand attachments and a variety of other accessories.
Because yes It is a portable type lens, this optic can be used not only for shoulder operation, but also using a steadicam or shooting from above using a crane.
FUJIFILM: here is the Fujinon Duvo 24-300 for broadcast zoom | the main features
Let’s discover the main features of this lens together which will be available from Spring 2024 and for which we still have no details on the price.
-
Offers a 12.5x zoom covering the 24-300mm focal length range in a compact and lightweight design
The 12.5x zoom covers a range of 24-300mm focal lengths which are the most frequently used on sets. Thanks to the optical technology that Fujifilm has cultivated over many decades, it features a compact and lightweight design with 270.5mm in length and 2.95kg in weight. This ensures high mobility in all types of live coverage, including sporting events and music concerts.
The use of an integrated expander allows the focal length to be multiplied by 1.5 times, reaching 36-450mm, with a field of view that allows you to capture even very distant subjects.
-
It supports cameras with both Super 35mm sensors and full frame equivalent sensors
The lens works natively with Super 35mm sensors and also supports full frame equivalent sensors by activating the integrated expander which expands the image circle by 1.5 times.
When mounted on a camera equipped with a full-frame equivalent sensor, the lens offers maximum optical performance while maintaining the same angle of view as when used on a camera with a Super 35mm sensor.

Cinematic visual expressions with beautiful bokeh
Using large-diameter aspherical elements and Super-ED lenses, polished with high precision, various forms of aberration are carefully controlled to achieve excellent optical performance. Ghosting, flare and chromatic aberration are effectively controlled to deliver natural-looking cinematic footage.
The lens has a maximum aperture of T2.9 at the wide-angle end, despite being a high-magnification lens that supports large sensors. This allows you to shoot in low-light conditions, such as indoor concerts and evening sporting events.
Blurred areas naturally fall out of focus from the focal plane towards the background. This produces the highly sought after cinematic look with beautiful textures and bokeh. It also allows the narrator to naturally draw the viewer’s attention to the subject in focus.
-
Use with various accessories
Equipped with the same drive unit as portable broadcast zoom lenses, it can be used in the same way via zoom and focus demand units.
It also supports multi-camera operations, shooting with multiple cameras at the same time, for efficient production.
The lens can be connected to a third-party wireless controller, a setup commonly used for commercial film and TV production, to remotely control focus, aperture and zoom. This also supports focusing by a dedicated operator, which is a traditional setup in the film industry.
The lens focusing ring has a gear pitch of 0.8M, which allows the use of all standard third-party accessories for film production, e.g. Follow Focus and external motor.
-
It has functions that facilitate both the shooting and editing phases
It features “Breathing Compensation Technology (BCT)” which automatically corrects breathing (fluctuations in viewing angle) to produce natural footage while keeping the subject captured in the established field of view during focus changes.
It has the “Remote Back Focus (RBF)” function which allows control of the flange focal distance directly from the control panel of the camera or robotic system that supports the RBF function. This allows for more precise adjustment with the large, high-resolution monitors and controlled lighting typical of control rooms in the studio or in the OB Van than those integrated on the rooms.
