To dampen the enthusiasm, however, we must note several absences that we will certainly notice at the next Gamescom 2022 including that of Sony.

Sony has therefore confirmed the absence of PlayStation at Gamescom 2022 which will be staged in Cologne. To the great chagrin of the fans of the Japanese company who would have certainly wanted to see some important announcements from Sony in the next event. Maybe they could be some consolation rumorswhich see Sony working on an upcoming and important one State of Play where the release date of God of War: Ragnarok, as well as some news on contoller, new viewers and displays.
But Sony will not be the only big absentee of the event, other important companies will miss the next Gamescom such as Nintendo, Activision Blizzard and Take-Two Interactive while it would seem that Xbox will take part in it.
