The more the days pass, the closer we get to the fateful day when we will see the new Monsterverse film. There are just over two weeks left until March 28th and we will finally be able to see Godzilla X Kong – The New Empire, let’s speculate on the plot of the film!
We at tuttotek, as well as many of you, we love the Monsterverse, we explained the reasons in this article. Basically we like to see the giant monsters get into a bad fight, putting on a spectacular fight with atomic rays, destructive punches and collapsing buildings. This is the Monsterverse, nothing but pure spectacularity with a touch of lore and legendary/mythological background. 10 years after the first film, it arrives Godzilla X Kong – The New Empire, a film we have been waiting for a lot, since Godzilla VS Kong, which unfortunately we Italians were unable to enjoy at the cinema due to the covid pandemic. But now we are ready for this new movie! We want to lay out our theories on what we might see happen in the plot.
An ever closer alliance | Godzilla X Kong – The new empire: what to expect from the plot
The first thing we expect to see. obviously, it is another collaboration between Godzilla and Kong. As we have already reiterated over and over again, the two monsters belong to two families of completely different divinities, who have indeed contributed to the salvation of the world and humanity, but the war between the two factions has led Godzilla and Kong to lose a lot of their family. However, both have always maintained their role, respectively as maintainer of order on Earth and protector of humanity. Now, after the events of Godzilla VS Kong, our two monstrous heroes are expected strengthen their alliance even more, perhaps even leading to a long and lasting friendship. After all, both are forced to face a threat the world has never seen before.

Let’s carefully analyze the subtitle of the film “The new empire“. Things? What does the subtitle of the fifth Monsterverse film refer to? As can easily be understood from the trailers, the world is about to face a great threat, a threat never seen before, something even Godzilla and Kong are afraid of. This threat is represented by Re Skar, another giant ape who seems to have a frightening intelligence, equal to that of man. What is more dangerous than a giant ape with the ability to reason, fight and act like a man? We also note that Skar stands building an empire of giant apes, other specimens such as Kong. This is enough to understand that this is more serious than expected, even more serious than what Ghidora did in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Skar will be the most formidable opponent Godzilla and Kong have ever faced.
King Kong | Godzilla X Kong – The new empire: what to expect from the plot
A very important factor to consider, especially about Kong, is that in the Monsterverse he is not called King Kong. Why? We think it actually doesn’t have this title yet because He hasn’t gotten it yet. And how do you become king when you have no one who considers you and, indeed, there is a dangerous and charismatic opponent you have to fight against? It seems clear to us that in the film Kong will manage to kill Skar, with Godzilla’s help of course. There are many giant apes and their leader is ruthless and willing to do anything to wipe out humanity and become the king of a planet governed only and exclusively by his peers. Skar’s intentions go to break the code of honor that his species, like that of Godzilla, had, that is protect the world. A regulation that, on the contrary, Kong follows, and even too well. We like to think (and we’re also pretty sure) that this will be the film that finally gives us King Kong.
The guardians of the Earth
Obviously these are just guesses, but we know this well it’s not the ending of the Monsterverse. There are still too many things that we haven’t yet seen repurposed into this cinematic universe, such as Spacegodzilla, Biollante and other creatures from the original Japanese films. This universe is vast and there is still so much to see, and also the franchise keep selling and above all to bring people into the cinema, something fundamental. What will happen to Godzilla and Kong? We know for sure that they will succeed, together they will stop this threat again and show themselves to the modern-day population as the guardians of the Earth.
