You have a controller and a Pretty recent LG TV? From today you can play on the cloud platform Google Stadia on all TV LG that have webOS 5.0 or webOS 6.0. So, if you’ve bought your TV from 2020 onwards, you can do without a console and play directly on the cloud from your living room.
Google Stadia arrives on LG TVs
LG this year has decided to focus more decisively on gaming, after having made us fall in love with the cinematic performance of its OLED TVs in recent years. In fact only a month ago he arrived in beta GeForce Now, Nvidia’s cloud gaming service. And today comes the announcement of Google Stadia, to give users an alternative.
A decidedly interesting alternative. In fact, if Nvidia allows 4K streaming only to its Shield TVs, Stadia allows the best possible resolution on LG TVs without the need for additional hardware. With Stadia Pro you can therefore play in 4K, with HDR e surround 5.1 already today.
You can even play without the need for a controller, simply by using your smartphone via the bridge mode feature. Although a controller might give you greater ability to shine in one of the many games like Control, Riders Repubblic o The Jackbox Party Pack to have fun with friends.
The most passionate gamers may have already connected a new generation console to their TV, or have a gaming station with performing computers. But this option could prove to be a winner for all “casual gamers” who for a monthly subscription can try different games directly on their TV, without having to invest even a cent in hardware.
It is far too early to wonder if this is the future of gaming. But it’s definitely an interesting option to have in your living room.
