If releasing it soon was the alpha plan, we need a beta plan: we may have the opportunity to try Gran Turismo 7 on the road soon.
With the decision to postpone Gran Turismo 7, we know that Sony’s fan-favorite driving simulator wouldn’t be out until next year, but we wouldn’t rule out a beta first. According to what was discovered by GT Planet, the PlayStation Experience web page may have missed a chance to play in advance the new chapter of the historic Sony road saga. It is not yet something confirmed, but something widely probable.
A beta version for a not yet known Gran Turismo 7 from A to Z
The web page presents various passages, from “Start Quest” to the related campaigns (“Related campaigns”): the item “Gran Turismo 7 Beta (test)” strangely appears under the item “Italia Quest”, and after ten seconds of the announcement trailer a code is generated. The latter is probably a tappabuchi, since redeeming “1234-5678-9012” does not lead to any result. There are probably still some internal tests in place, but it still felt right to report this news.
It’s not impossible that Sony is still testing to see if the platform can handle the brunt of this next-gen driving experience. Waiting for confirmation, however, we would not feel unbalanced. We also invite you to take this rumor with a grain of salt, but do not be surprised if a beta is released. Gran Turismo Sport received a trial version before launch, so it’s only a matter of time before we have at least some news.
