With the opening of the presale, the price of Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, the remastered of the classic titles of the GTA saga set to be released next year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xobox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch and PC. It will contain remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas.

Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy sarà distributed in two different versions, each of which will have its own specific price. The version optimized for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One will be equal to 60 euro, while that linked to the new generation consoles will cost 70 euro. Rockstar has also announced that, simultaneously with the release of this remastered, the versions currently on the market of these games, whose price was around 10 euros, will be removed from all digital stores. Rockstar isn’t the first company to release a game for next-generation consoles at this higher price than consumers are used to.
The question of the increase in the price of video games made for next-gen consoles is currently quite divisive, especially due to the fact that publishers have not yet managed to find an agreement on this. In favor of this new standard for the industry, Jim Ryan, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, spoke out. In fact, his company has already distributed some games for the PlayStation 5, such as Demon’s Souls and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, at a price of 70 euros.
