With the aim of absorbing CO2 through environmental biodiversity, Gruppo Renault today announces its collaboration with Treedom. Thus was born Renaulution Up!an initiative that aims to enhance the territory with benefits for local communities.
The partnership is part of a broader Renault project, which has been running for years, to reduce its environmental impact. The initiative plans to plant about 300 trees, one for each of the brand’s collaborators, thus confirming its commitment to environmental sustainability. Each single tree, belonging to different species, will be planted in different countries to be photographed and geolocated in order to follow its development over the years.
Treedom helps to create the “Renault forest”
Up to now 280 trees have been planted including Cacao, Caffè, Grevillea, Macadamia, Red Mangrove and Markhamia. Planting took place in 6 countries around the world: Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Kenya, Tanzania.
On the Treedom.net website it is possible to consult all the information on what has been defined as the Renault Forest. The portal will also take into account how much carbon dioxide has been absorbed by the trees in question.
“Our attention to the environment guides us in every step and we are happy to have started this collaboration with Treedom by making a unique gift to all of us in the Renault Group Italy and to the planet: a tree”, he explains. Raffaele Fusilli, CEO of Renault Italy. “Why a tree? Because it absorbs CO2, emits oxygen and promotes biodiversity; Treedom’s trees also have another value of social responsibility by supporting the farmers who are involved in the project all over the world. The Renault forest will be a further tangible sign of our commitment to the planet and its protection… Renaulution? for us it is also this ”.
