Through a post on Reddit, Pow3r, a very popular Italian streamer, had his say about the input lag problems on Halo Infinite
During the Xbox 20th anniversary celebration event, Microsoft launched an unprecedented bombshell by instantly releasing a beta of Halo Infinite multiplayer on PC and Xbox platforms. It had been talked about for days, actually, and in the end it really happened: a sensational download boom, especially on Steam which registered record numbers, which underlines even more how much the Master Chief fanbase is eagerly awaiting that December 8th that seems so close, yet hard to get there. There are many active players in the multiplayer sector of Halo right now, including, of course, also many streamers.
Giorgio Calandrelli, aka Pow3r, is one of these. Professional player at Fnatic, Pow3r has a glorious career on the most disparate titles, from Call of Duty to Fortnite, passing precisely from Halo. Through a post on reddit, the Content Creator has put in the spotlight a technical problem that seems to haunt the Halo Infinite gunplay both in this beta version., both in the version of Technical Test previously released. We mainly talk about input lag and how, according to Pow3r’s words, difficulties were encountered in the micro correction of movements when aiming at a target. And there seems to be currently no way to correct this problem. Let’s see together what Pow3r said specifically.
Pow3r unleashes on Reddit: input lag in Halo Infinite?
You can find the post on Reddit here, we translate it directly into Italian for better use:
Hi guys, I’m Pow3r, an Italian streamer and Fnatic player. This is my first post and it comes from several hours of gameplay spent in this wonderful game. Ever since I started trying Halo during the Technical test, I have noticed a strange input lag when trying to apply some small correction to movement on a target. It looked like it was linked to the aim assist which you could disable from the options, but it never worked. Now that Halo is officially out, there is no settings menu and I have noticed the same problem, which is that it is really difficult to adjust the aim on a target. It seems to “snap” on a pixel or to be slowed down for that fraction of a millisecond to give the impression that there is some sort of delay or aim assist. Is there anyone else experiencing the same problem? I tried tweeting at Unyshek, I hope they solve this problem soon.
Users on Reddit have given some possible answers to Pow3r’s post about this sort of input lag in Halo Infinite, but it’s still nothing official. Someone talks about a non-optimized version released on PC, others about the problems of using Direct X 12. We’ll see what 343 Industries has to say about it.
