In one of the latest updates on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries said there is no mod support to date for Halo: The Master Chief Collection in its Xbox console version.
A disastrous launch is definitely not a good starting point for a product, in any industry, but it doesn’t always mean an end. The most recent example that comes to mind is certainly that of Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Projekt Red, which had one of the most terrifying arrivals on the market in the entire history of the gaming industry, but also the Halo: The Master Chief Collection initially. he hadn’t had a good time. The major problems encountered at the release on Xbox platforms were then solved, until the arrival in a “fragmentary” version on PC. And this last platform is the one that has attracted the most public, both for the type of game we are referring to, and for the extreme support that 343 Industries has provided. And what’s the best way to attract people to a shooter? Obviously the mod.
Will we be able to have the same mod support also in the console version? In a recent update that appeared on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries, in the person of Tyler Davis (community support and engagement coordinator) answered this question in the negative. Currently, the company has no plans to add mod support in the console versions of the Master Chief Collection. As of today, they would be focused on improving and expanding the experience exclusively on PC.
No mods on Xbox for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, at least for now!
In fact, Tyler Davis stated:
To date, there are no plans to bring mods from PC to consoles. Our goal for this year is to improve and expand the PC modding experience, even before we even start thinking about how (and if so) to bring it to console. We have seen that there has been a lot of chatter about it and we don’t want to disappoint anyone so I repeat: for now there is no official plan to do such a thing. It’s something that may change in the future, of course, but it’s not currently on our roadmap.
Tyler Davis
