Design e costruzione | Hands-On Acer Chromebox CXI5

Acer has built this compact PC in an SFF case (Small Form Factor) with typical design of modular constructions. In fact, this small PC enclosed in this compact case can be hooked up to a stand that owns an Acer monitor, thus becoming a stand-alone PC as well as a fixed PC on occasion. For a company, such a feature is definitely useful. In this case it transforms into a complete Add-In-One, which makes broad compatibility (thanks to countless latest generation ports) its strong point, especially from a business point of view.

Suitable for limited spaces as mentioned, it has VESA type mounting. We then quattro porte USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A not due porte USB 4 Gen 3 Type-C. Present then una porta USB full function not due porte HDMI 2.1. For video connections instead, we have a maximum of four external displays. And also, networks are supported Wi-Fi 6E wireless and wired local area networks of up to 2.5Gb and 2.5G RJ45 port port.

The technical specifications | Hands-On Acer Chromebox CXI5

Returning to the product in question, we have Chrome OS on boardwith processors Intel i7 family 12th generation, equipped with Intel vPro platform designed for business and up to four external displays. The dedicated Intel-designed hardware and software platform is created specifically for companies that guarantees advanced software protection systems, and important functions such as remote diagnostics from technical support, and much more than simple remote control.

This device also is equipped with 24/7 IT administrative support, thanks to the administration console then ensuring a low energy consumption mode and efficient charging functionality. With a significant up to 20% improvement over previous generations of processors.

Who can it be useful for?

Does it make sense as a PC Home User? Obviously not, as Acer already has a range of products for consumer use and they are certainly products more aimed at these uses, a product like the Chromebox CXI5 is instead specifically designed to work in a certain way, and above all in certain situations.

The purchase can certainly be of interest at a company level, as they inevitably represent a considerable convenience, due to their modular nature and, being highly portable and adaptable. Let’s imagine carrying a classic Desktop PC from one floor to another for a presentation, compared to a small lightweight PC, less than an A4 sheet of paper.
