There are lots of very interesting characters, but probably that of Angel Dust it is one of the most beautiful and at the same time hard and moving to see.

As we did with Alastor and Husk, let’s start from the beginning with Angel’s story. Before he died, his real name was Anthony Dust and he was the son of two parents who were members of a mafia gang. However, Anthony never approved of his family’s modus operandi and never loved the life he lived. The only safe place he had in his family was his dear little sister Molly. Molly was the only light Anthony had in her life, a hope for a better future to share with her. What we know about Molly is very little, but the creator of the series revealed to us that her dear little sister went to Heaven after she died.
Angel, as we have already said, never approved of the mafia lifestyle, he hated his family hurting people, which is why he was considered the weak one. This developed a great insecurity in him, which he however hid with his passion for sex. One day, tired of his life, he runs away from home and, to survive, she prostitutes herself. By doing his job, Anthony got into a bad loop with some bad habits that would eventually lead to a horrible end. In fact, Anthony’s mortal life ended because of one overdose of drugs. This would be the reason why she ended up in Hell, where she became a huge porn star.

Precisely this career as a porn star has turned Angel’s life upside down. The reason he got all this fame and success was because of a pact made with Valentino. Valentino is both Angel’s salvation and at the same time his worst nightmare. If it is true that thanks to Valentino he has become someone, at the same time Angel sold his soul to him to get out of a horrible situation and become one of the most loved and admired infernal demons in Hell. As Angel says, in fact, thanks to his work he has obtained many awards, he has become rich and above all he has become a sex symbol of the kingdom of the damned. According to some theories, Valentino would also have been a mafioso in his earthly life, probably in close contact with Angel’s family.
Valentino’s charisma led him to become one of the Overlord and to obtain great power. This great power he used to take Angel’s soul and make it his own sex toy. Angel’s situation seems truly irrecoverable, a nightmare from which the poor boy cannot escape. There are too many obstacles to face. First of all Valentino is an overlordit has too great power and moreover it is obsessed with Angel. There is no escape route for him, also because, beyond him, there is also Vox to supervise everything. They both work together to run a business where Angel is at the center, thus preventing any moves on his part. Angel couldn’t kill Valentino even if he wanted to and if he did there would be really serious consequences. This is where it comes into play the true hero of Angel: Husk. After having a very heated argument, Angel leaves the hotel to go have fun with shady people. Then Husk, pushed by Charlie and Vaggie, goes to look for him to prevent him from getting hurt. Just when a gangster shark was about to drug Angel with a drink, Husk saves him from yet another rape. The discussion starts again and at that point Husk reveals his past and what happened to him to fall so low. By sharing his experiences, the hotel bartender inspires Angel, giving him hope again that someone cares about him, that he is not alone. Furthermore, it is clear that there is more than just friendship between the two, because thanks to Husk, Angel improves himself and rebels against Valentino, rediscovering his value. The feline demon was fundamental in making Angel wake up and remind him that he deserves respect and above all love.
A victim of events
Talking about Angel without shedding tears is really difficult, almost impossible. Angel Dust is the character with the viewer empathizes more, his story is devastating and not even hearts of stone could remain impassive to the tragedy in which Angel’s whole life is shrouded, both before and after his death. Angel is a person with low self-esteem who doesn’t give himself the right value, this is due to a sincere love that he has never received and which, consequently, he doesn’t believe he deserves.
