As on the other consoles, even on the Xbox Series X and S Hogwarts Legacy offers five modes, and compared to the PC counterpart it runs almost identically thanks to the Quality Mode setting. In terms of resolution, we are therefore talking about 1800p, as well as 30 FPS without ray-tracing. The maximum distance viewing of 3D models (draw distance) benefits from this together with the quality of the textures, vegetation, lighting and much more. Ray tracing can be applied to shadows and reflections. Unfortunately, as you will see belowon each platform it also seems to generate problems.
Both the aforementioned draw distance and texture quality suffer greatly on console. There is talk of the rest of an excessive mode even for PCs, thus making the improvement of ray-tracing “superfluous”. Even the two balanced (Balanced) and performance (Performance) modes allow a high framerate, although they can only be enabled on 120 hertz monitors. Speaking of performance, Microsoft’s home consoles triumph wherever ray-tracing isn’t considered. The hiccups are however present in every version, including one minority of NPCs for the emerald-hued platform, but other than the whining about lighting and difficult room loading, there aren’t any real issues to report.
