It’s called Hold My Hand, the song that Lady Gaga wrote for the film’s soundtrack Top Gun: Maverick. The new and highly anticipated film starring Tom Cruise will premiere at the Cannes 2022 festival and will be released in Italian cinemas on 25 May.

Eagle Pictures will distribute the film.

The thrilling single from the soundtrack, as well as the film, was directed by Joe Kosinski. We see the well-known star Lady Gaga moving between the spectacular scenarios of the film, in addition to the memorable scenes from Top Gun.

The single Hold My Hand, produced by Lady Gaga and BloodPop with the help of Benjamin Rice, was written for the film and will also be heard within the film. The ‘cinematic’ version of Hold My Hand contains additional production by Harold Faltermeyer and Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer.

“Hold My Hand” marks Lady Gaga’s great comeback as an author and producer of soundtracks after the huge success of “A Star is Born” in 2018 for which the pop star won an Academy Award, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award , a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award.

The Top Gun Maverick soundtrack

The film’s soundtrack will be released on May 25 via Interscope Records.

The album will feature the timeless classics of the first film, new songs and the music written for the new film, reflecting the past, present and future of Top Gun. There will be unmistakable hits like Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” but there will also be room for a cheering live version of “Great Balls of Fire,” sung by actor Miles Teller in a scene from Top Gun Maverick.

There will also be the music of the film composed by Lorne Balfe, Harold Faltermeyer and by the Academy Award winners Lady Gaga and Hans Zimmer. The next track to be released from the album will be the single “I Ain’t Worried” by the GRAMMY® nominated band, OneRepublic, available May 13.

The plot of the movie

Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise), one of the best aviators in the Navy, after more than thirty years of service he is still in the only place he would like to be. He avoids the promotion that would no longer allow him to fly, and he pushes the limits once again, courageously testing new planes. Called to train a special team of Top Gun academy students for a secret mission, Maverick will meet Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), nickname “Rooster”, son of his old flight mate Nick Bradshaw “Goose”. Grappling with an uncertain future and the ghosts of his past, Maverick will have to face his deepest fears to complete a very difficult mission, which will require great sacrifice on the part of all who choose to participate.
