The production of House of Cards was followed by Reed Hastings (the founder and former CEO of the company) himself with the initial investment of over 100 million dollars, a truly huge sum for a company not yet established on a production level, but necessary to include important professionals such as the actor in the project Kevin Spacey, who would also have played the leading role. In addition to Spacey, the cast chosen was first-rate as demonstrated by the use of Robin Wright, Michael Kelly e Kate Mara.
The winning choice and the huge success of House of Cards among audiences and critics all over the world has made the name of Netflix known everywhere. The praise for the series was, for the most part, unanimous and even certified by the Emmy awards which nominated her for 9 statuettes. It was the first streaming series to be nominated for such an important award, thus sanctioning a significant change in serial enjoyment.

The protagonist Frank Underwood's rise to the presidency of the United States was able to conquer everyone, obviously thanks to the skill of Kevin Spacey. Even today the famous Tu-dum of the Netflix musical intro, is the noise resulting from the two knocks on the table given by Kevin Spacey, or rather by Frank Underwood, in the finale of the second season.
The Spacey court case then put an end to the series, but over the years the series has remained a cult. Where to see it, then? Today on Netflix, in which in Italy we can find all seasons from November 2023. In 2013 the series was in fact purchased by Sky Italia, as Netflix was not yet present on Italian territory and the situation remained that way for a decade.
