How Do You Live is the new animated film by Studio Ghibli directed by Hayao Miyazaki and will be released in Italian cinemas in new year 2024. In fact, it will be Lucky Red to bring to Italian cinemas, starting from 1 January 2024, The boy and the heron (How Do You Live?), the new film by animation master Hayao Miyazaki, renewing the consolidated distribution relationship with Studio Ghibli. Arrived in Japanese theaters on July 14, the film conquered the box office since its opening weekend with $11.3 million ($45 million total), breaking Studio Ghibli’s previous records.

The plot of the movie, based on the novel “And you, how will you live?” by Genzaburô Yoshino, revolves around a boy named It will be done whose mother is killed in a fire. Shortly thereafter, his father, who works in a factory that produces fighter planes, marries his late wife’s younger sister, Natsuko, and moves the whole family to his ancestors’ large country house. Mahito, resentful of Natsuko for taking his mother’s place, begins to explore the area around the house and discovers a mysterious tower which, however, he is forbidden to enter.
Here the boy makes friends with a talking heron which states that Mahito’s mother is actually alive but locked up in the tower waiting to be rescued. Mahito thus decides to go in search of his stepmother who mysteriously disappears right inside the tower. Upon entering, Mahito is transported to a alternate universe made of magic where his research brings him into contact with new friends but also many enemies.

As mentioned, the release date will be completely symbolic and full of meanings. How Do You Live will in fact enter the Italian cinema programming from January 1, 2024, opening up all the senses the year round. An undoubtedly particular choice, which perhaps can be an idea to spend a few hours of New Year’s Eve in a different way than usual.
The trailer (which is not there)
There is no trailer for the film to date, and indeed it seems that it will never be released.
