The Game Awards 2022 (by the way, here’s the summary of the evening) were the perfect stage to preview the new action RPG developed by Airship Syndicate. Let’s talk about Wayfinderwhose beta playtest will be available from 13 December 2022in a few days.
The title will be distributed by Digital Extremes (the same as Warframe) and will consist of an online action RPG, with characters created by Joe ‘Mad’ Madureira (Battle Chasers, Darksiders, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story). The full version will arrive for PC and consoles in the course of 2023.
In the meantime, however, an official trailer was released during The Game Awards 2022, which you can find below.
What we know about Wayfinder and Beta access
Players will be called upon to counter the Gloom, a mysterious threat that is corrupting the world of Evenor, armed with their Gloom Dagger. To stop Evenor’s devastating decay, players will be able to choose from a variety of Wayfinders (characters) to control, each with their own story, playstyle, and unique abilities.
“Developing new IP and fantasy worlds is one of our greatest joys, and our studio was built for just that,” said Joe Madureira, Creative Director of Wayfinder and CEO of Airship Syndicate. “I hope the world of Wayfinder is a place millions of players love to come back to and immerse themselves in for years to come.”
Those who want to try Wayfinder can register at Beta program called Closed Playtest which will start on Tuesday, December 13th. PC players will be able to apply on the official website (at this link). Once registered you will be contacted via email with all the details for the Closed Playtest. We remind you that during this phase the developers will continue to improve the game, collecting player feedback. The definitive title will also be released on consoles in the fall of 2023. It will be a free-to-play.
