It is since the release of iOS 14.2 in 2020 that the iPhone has included music recognition technology integrated with Shazam. And now with iOS 16 – and also iOS 15.6 beta – the feature has received a small but useful update. As reported recently by a user on Twitter, now the songs identified with the music recognition in Control Center do finally sync with the Shazam App. Let’s go find out something more.
iOS 16 and Shazam: Apple improves integration
iOS 16 finally improves the integration of music recognition with the Shazam App, making song synchronization available. This means that the songs identified with the Control Center function will be uploaded to the Shazam “history”, thus allowing you to listen to them again at a later time. To see it this way, the synchronization could be quite minimal as a novelty, yet it is a really important addition for users. Especially considering that Apple has stated that the music recognition feature in Control Center has been used for well a billion times by its users in less than a year.
On the other hand, the Apple-Shazam union seems almost indissoluble. Apple acquired Shazam in 2018 for $ 400 million, and has steadily improved the service ever since. The goal, of course, is always to make the user experience as simple and functional as possible. And we are pretty sure that the Cupertino company is on the right track. In any case, we should not do anything but try if the optimization of the integration between iOS 16 and Shazam really worked.
