What’s new in iOS 17 – Apple doesn’t just want to fix bugs

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently sent out the new issue of his Power On newsletter, in which he revealed that iOS 17 was initially conceived as a release focused on bug fixes and performancerather than new features. Earlier, Gurman said iOS 17 feature development had been overtaken by prioritizing work on the operating system for the Apple Reality headset. In short: Apple had decided to focus on virtual reality and leave mobile aside.

However, Gurman said the original strategy has been changed. In fact, it appears that iOS 17 will now include some exciting new features. In particular, iOS 17 will include some features that users have been requesting for some time, although it has not been specified what these features will be. The internal codename for iOS 17 is “Dawn“.

Additionally, in this newsletter, Gurman also revealed that the Apple Reality headsets were presented internally to Apple executives at the Steve Jobs Theater last week. Which indicates that the project is getting closer to its public release.
