The iPhone 14, Plus, Pro e Pro Max they have arrived and specialist magazines from all over the world are doing their own tests (we too, soon you will have all the reviews you need). One of the most interesting data that emerges from these tests concerns the charging speed of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max: can they compete with the other top of the range?
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max, here are the charging speeds
The Chinese site Chongdiantou tested different adapters to see how they affected the charging of the new iPhones, especially since Apple itself offers different chargers. In short: an adapter USB-C yes 30W seems to be the best (and cheapest) answer.
The maximum recharge of iPhone 14 is in fact 25W, while the Pro Max version reaches 27W. The 35W adapter from Apple is therefore not needed, unless you want to charge two devices at the same time: the charging speed on the single device remains the same.
It seems that the various adapters do not affect the charging speed of the two devices, as long as the allowed speed is of 29W or higher.
For comparison, although Apple did not mention it during the presentation, iPhone 13 charged at 23W maximum while iPhone 14 Pro Max charged at 27W. The increase in speed has therefore actually taken place, although it is not huge. Perhaps the speed could increase if Apple decides to adopt USB-C cables for the iPhones 15 next year. However, doubts are growing as to whether it can do so.
The choice of charger has become important since Apple stopped including them in the boxes. In any case, Apple ensures that for all four iPhones you can charge 50% of the battery in about 30 minutes with a 20W or higher adapter.
