Over the past few days, rumors have become increasingly insistent that the announcement of a new chapter of InFamous is imminent. This hypothetical InFamous 4 should be a PlayStation 5 exclusive and an official reveal could arrive during the next one PlayStation Showcase scheduled for Thursday 9 September. Let’s take a look at the information we have.
Is InFamous 4 coming to PlayStation 5?
Sucker Punch, the development studio that gave birth to the InFamous saga, is currently busy managing the post launch support for Ghost Of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, but there are already many rumors about the next project the company will work on. Several clues point to a sequel to Jin Sakai’s adventure in the Rising Sun, but just as many rumors would like the software house to work on a new chapter of InFamous.
Entering more into the merits of the matter was the well-known insider Often Nick to focus the attention of fans on the possibility of a hypothetical InFamous 4. According to what the journalist wrote on his official Twitter account the chances that Sucker Punch is working on a project linked to the imagery of the superhero saga are high, even if he himself curbs the enthusiasm by explaining that he has not been able to fully investigate the issue.
Ok. Please take this one with a grain of salt because it’s one of the things I couldn’t get confirmed. But because I like the series I’m hoping it’s true. But there’s a chance we could see Infamous make a return at Sony’s showcase. Fingers crossed.

Nothing confirmed for now, even if in the past few hours a news has been reported that could lead back to this elusive InFamous 4. Sucker Punch in fact has just renewed the domain of the InFamous website, a choice that could be linked to the company’s desire to keep alive an ideal showcase in which to present the new chapter of the series.
The possibilities therefore seem to be quite concrete, although nothing is confirmed yet.
InFamous: where did we stay?
The InFamous saga is one of those that was very successful at the time of its release and, even now, enjoys a large fanbase that has been clamoring for a new title for years.. The two original games released in 2009 and 2011 respectively, follow the events of Cole, a delivery boy who is involved in a mysterious explosion that involves his entire city.
After being hit by the shockwaves of the conflagration, Cole discovers he can check electricity to your liking.
In terms of gameplay and narration, InFamous is configured as a sandbox video game with a system of Karma which directly affects plot events. In fact, in the game we will be called to make various moral choices and, depending on our behavior, we will get closer to the figure of the hero or that of the villain.
After the close of the events of Infamous 2, Sucker Punch has released a third chapter entitled InFamous: Second Son, a kind of soft reboot of the franchise set several years after the end of InFamous 2. In this case the protagonist is Delsin, a young man with the power to copy the superpowers of others, which allowed the developers to experiment with new gameplay solutions and abilities linked to rather unusual elements , like neon smoke.
It is plausible to imagine that for a hypothetical InFamous 4 we will find ourselves checking again Delsin, perhaps with the start of the game placed chronologically shortly after the conclusion of Second Son. In any case, we will not have to wait long to find out if these rumors are real or not, as it is very close to the Sony conference.
