For some years now TV series have become an integral part of global everyday lifeand even the Italians have not proved immune to their charm.
Serially, the first free Italian streaming platform dedicated to unreleased international TV series in Italy, conducted a survey aimed at discovering the habits of its userslet’s discover them together.
Media used and preferred times
It seems that Italians dedicate on average 12 hours a week to this pastime.
Hand in hand with the consumption of TV series is that of food, and we do not mean just sweet or savory snacks. In fact almost half of the sample examined usually ate their main meals while watching TV series.
The trend is to use different devices to follow the deeds of their favorite heroes. Indeed support appears to change based on the context of the day.
Smart TVs are used by about 60% of the interviewees, while 56% use the PC (especially the youngest), while in third place, with about 55% of the interviewees, we find smartphones.
All this highlights how much TV series have fully entered the lives of Italians, accompanying them in every movement.
Gender preferences
It seems that the most followed genres are crime and sci-fiwith an equal third place for i comedy e i fantasy. Obviously, the following are also very popular drama e i medicalwhich are mostly preferred by the female population.
I tastes however are very variedprobably due to the wide range of choices today’s platforms offer.
The securities that in any case exceeded 10% of the total are: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Paper House, Star Trek, confirming the wide interest of users in content that is not necessarily mainstream.
