Jaguar TCS Racing: the words of the protagonists on the position in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship 2023

James BarclayTeam Principal at Jaguar TCS Racing:

It was an incredible racing season with the Gen3 cars. The final fight for the Teams Championship against the Jaguar powered team was a true testament to the performance of the I-TYPE 6, and to wrap it all up here in London was extra special indeed. While it is disappointing not to have taken the title of World Team Champion, I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved this year as a manufacturer and as a team. Jaguar’s 1-2 and Envision Racing’s win was an outstanding result and I congratulate everyone at Envision Racing on taking the team title.

I’d also like to say a huge thank you to Sam. It has been an incredible three years and he has contributed to the success we have achieved as a team. Sam adds to the illustrious list of drivers who have raced for Jaguar and I know he is as proud as we are. Sam is a very talented rider who has been a privilege to work with and I know he will still have great successes in the future. Finally, thanks to our colleagues and partners and our friends around the world. Without them, none of this would have been possible. They contribute to performance on and off the track and are central to our success.

Mitch Evanspilota Jaguar TCS Racing, #9:

Overall I have to consider this year as positive. Four victories, three pole positions and seven podiums are a great result. At one point of the season I was 80 points behind, so narrowing this gap and fighting for the championship until the end was positive. I am very proud of my personal performance; plus, the team was incredible and I can never thank them enough. From the circuit to the factory, everyone at Jaguar TCS Racing is determined to win. A final thank you goes out to all our fans and partners for their support this year.

Sam Birdpilota Jaguar TCS Racing, #10:

We gave it our all today and did everything we could, but unfortunately we had an excessive deficit at the start of the weekend. Congratulations to Envision on winning the World Championship. Overall, this season has been quite disappointing for me, with many wasted opportunities at the start, but I also have to look at the positives: the pace has been high, I scored four podiums, scored almost 100 points and finished the championship eighth place in front of excellent drivers. It’s bittersweet to leave the team, I’ve had some ups and downs over the last few years, but I want to take this opportunity to thank the team for everything they’ve done, and I can’t wait to find out what the future holds for me.
