Kingston announces IronKey Keypad 200C, hardware-encrypted USB-C drive

Kingston today announced the launch of the IronKey Keypad 200C, a USB Type-C key with hardware encryption that promises security and convenience. This new device offers advanced data protection and compatibility with all USB-C devices.

The KP200C has a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified military-grade security, under approval. The integrated alphanumeric keyboard makes access via PIN is quick and easy, regardless of the operating system of the device in use.

Hardware-based 256-bit XTS-AES encryption guarantees complete protection from unauthorized access attempts. The stick is also equipped with protection against Brute Force attacks and a solid defense against the so-called BadUSB attack, thanks to the digitally signed firmware.

An innovative aspect of the KP200C is the possibility of set multiple PINs, both for administrator users and for standard users. This means that an administrative PIN can be created to manage access to the unit, and if the user PIN is lost or forgotten, the administrator can easily reset it to allow access to data.

Oscar Escayola Kaloudis, Flash Business Manager EMEA and Sales Manager DACH, Middle East and Africa, Greece and Israel, highlighted the importance of this new USB Type-C flash drive. “Data protection needs grow as breaches from cloud penetrations, broken software encryption, or lost USB drives increase. Sensitive data requires the strongest military-grade protection available on hardware-encrypted drives so it can be physically protected off the Internet, safeguarding data in transit and data at rest. With the addition of the KP200C, our second USB Type-C drive, to the IronKey line following the Vault Privacy 50Cwe now offer even greater flexibility across different platforms and operating systems, allowing users to effortlessly access data, regardless of device or system.”

You can find the stick in different denominations, from 8 to 256GB of memory. Find more information about the stick here.
