Lexus RX is finally official. The fifth generation of the SUV could arrive at the end of this year after more than 3.5 million units sold worldwide. In this way, the RX has become one of the flagships of the Japanese brand. To remain a true leader, the new Lexus RX offers a renewed design and unique features.
In addition, the new Lexus SUV is developed on the new platform GA-K which allowed its production from scratch. Now, the model has a “New double-ended bodywork”Which aims to integrate the double arrowhead into the front of the SUV. The RX offers a more refined appearance, has a lower ground clearance and at first glance it may seem like a model with more balance.
The new Lexus RX will be available in three different versions: 350h, 450h+ e 500h. The first is fully hybrid and offers a power of 245 hp. It is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 8 seconds and approved for emissions of 143 g of CO2 / km.
The second engine, 450h +, is the model’s first plug-in hybrid. It offers a power of 306 hp and a battery of 18.1 kWh. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7 seconds and records CO2 emissions of 26 grams per kilometer. Its electric range is 65 kilometers.
The top version of the SUV is the so-called 500h and it is the brand’s first hybrid with a turbo engine. Its power is 371 hp and accelerates from or up to 100 km / hour in 6 seconds.
It is worth mentioning that the power delivery is controlled by a brand new exclusive technology called Direct4. This system is capable of constantly distributing power and torque between the front and rear axles.
Lexus RX, a po’ coupé and a po’ sportiva
On the side it hits the black rear pillar, said floating roof. This means that the model offers a coupé line with sporty nuances. All this is also possible thanks to the wheels from 21 inches. It is worth mentioning that the new RX has 6mm of extra wheelbase and the height of the set has been lowered by 1cm.
The interior of the SUV presents a generous 14-inch multimedia screen which groups all the functions that can be controlled via touch. Along with them is the classic speedometer, head-up display and multi-information screen. There is also the audio system High fidelity Mark Levinson with 21 speakers.
Among the driver assistance systems, the new Lexus RX has a parking camera with 360º vision, an advanced parking system. Also present the Lexus Safety System 3, a pre-collision system and an E-Latch electronic locking system.
The price list is not yet known, but it can already be ordered on the official Lexus website with deliveries expected by the end of 2022.
