Lord of the Rings: Gollum – The game is out in 2022

After the release was postponed last January, during tonight’s 2021 Game Awards, they have arrived new images of the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

In particular we see Gollum embarking on his journey through Middle-earth. During the event it was also revealed that the dialogue options will allow players to carve out a personalized narrative path. Therefore each choice will affect the development of the plot. It will therefore be up to Gollum, and his alter-ego Smeagol, to build their own destiny.

The game will be developed by Daedalic Entertainments and will be released in 2022, although no release dates have been announced. The title will be published by Nacon for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch and even PC. The company also said it will only be first of a series of games set in Tolkien’s world.

In the meantime, we bring you the words with which the CEO di Daedalic, Carsten Fichtelmann, had announced the videogame in the first instance:

“We are focusing on the character of Gollum and are telling his story before we know what happens to him in the books. We’re looking for ways to tell stories that weren’t shown in the movies. We will tell the story of a character who is familiar to us, but without repeating what we already know. “
