Panasonic is proud to present the new LUMIX S 70-300 mm F4.5-5.6 MACRO O.I.S. (S-R70300), an interchangeable telephoto zoom lens with L-Mount dedicated to full-frame mirrorless cameras of the same series. LUMIX S 70-300 mm F4.5-5.6 MACRO OIS: optical characteristics
The new S-R70300. ensures an extraordinary rendering to create high impact photos and videos. Not only that: the high-speed and precision autofocus, supported by the Dual IS system, ensures the versatility to easily capture any type of moving subject. Based on state of the art optical technology, i 17 elements – inclusive of a UED lens (Ultra Extra-low Dispersion), two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) e una CLOCK (Ultra-High Refractive Index) – are divided into 11 groups and perfectly aligned to effectively cancel the axial chromatic aberrations of long focal lengths and those caused by the magnification of short focal lengths.
The UHR lens, in particular, smooths the image quality from the center to the edges, with the further advantage of reducing the overall dimensions. With the incredible minimum focusing distance of 0.54m, the LUMIX S-R70300 achieves a maximum magnification of 0.5x (at 300mm), allowing you to shoot and macro shots at half life size. The round opening with 11-blade iris produces beautiful circular bokeh effects across the entire zoom range. The sistema Dual I.S. combines the optical image stabilizer (OIS) inside the lens with that built into the camera body of LUMIX S (BIS) cameras to compensate for vibration and reduce the shutter speed by 5.5 stops. Furthermore, the maximum control of 480 fps is synonymous with fast and very high-precision autofocus.

Despite the abundance of systems and technologies, the telephoto lens has one extremely light and compact structure, convenient to take anywhere. The solid body, resistant to dust and splashes, gives its best even in prohibitive conditions, for example a temperature at -10 ° C. The fluorine treatment applied to the frontal element, moreover, it is water- and oil-repellent. The filter diameter is 77 mm. All lenses in the LUMIX S series are unsurpassed in terms of shooting performance, thanks to the special mechanism that eliminates the apparent zoom effect when changing the focus distance – the so-called focus breathing, an insurmountable problem for interchangeable lenses limited only to photography. What’s more, while zooming, the focus is always fixed on the subject, for professional-grade videos.
