Time ago Huawei has actively entered the automotive world, after Apple and Xiaomi also announced they were working on their own electric cars. And after the Aito brand, the Chinese phone company also launched Luxeed, created in collaboration with Chery. And the first car officially presented in China: it is the Luxeed S7.

The goal is to surpass the Tesla Model S e in quality and performance Huawei describes it as a BMW equivalent. The hope, therefore, is to attract customers in the Chinese luxury car market, after the market launch of the Aito SUV.
The Luxeed S7 it is a completely electrified sedan that seems to have convinced the public: a few days after its launch, over 20 thousand orders were registered in China, for the moment the only market where it is on sale, even if deliveries will not take place before the start of 2024.

The features and autonomy of the Huawei sedan
The Luxeed S7 it measures 4.97 meters long, 1.96 meters wide and 1.47 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.95 metres. Its weight, however, varies between 1,975 and 2,170 kg depending on the variant chosen. The car is built on the EOX platform with an 800V architecture. Of the four variants available, three share a 215kW engine with rear-wheel drive. One, however, is a dual 365 kW engine with all-wheel drive, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.
At a technological level the presence of is felt Huawei, which provides the engines, HarmonyOS 4 software and the ADS 2.0 driver assistance system platform. In particular, the driving assistance is equipped with LiDAR sensors: these are 3 millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 11 cameras. Also included is the self-parking function.
The actual capacity of the batteries has not yet been specified, although all versions are equipped with CATL batteries, with which Huawei has also recently launched the Deepal S7 520Pro electric SUV.
As for the engines and the autonomy of the Luxeed S7, performance varies depending on the variant chosen. We start from the Pro version with 550 km of autonomy and the Max with 705 km. The autonomy of the Max+ is significantly increased, reaching 855 km. For the Max RS the story is a little different: it is the only version with all-wheel drive and a dual 365 kW engine, but the range should drop to 630 km.
How much does Huawei’s Luxeed S7 cost
The four variations of Luxeed S7 have different costs, with a starting price of 249,800 yuan, that is 32.200 eurofor the Pro. The Max and Max+ versions, however, cost 37,370 euros and 41,240 euros respectively.
The ultra Max RS version, with a dual 365 kW engine and all-wheel drive, however, is the top of the range launched at a price of 45,110 euros.
As already mentioned, deliveries to China will start from the beginning of the new year. There is still no news, however, regarding the entry into the European car market Huawei.
