Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said a few hours ago that Apple intends to begin mass production of a new version of the MacBook Air in the third quarter of 2022. with an updated and more powerful Apple silicon processor. The new device should have a completely different design than in the past, starting from its aesthetic appearance.
MacBook Air: new version coming in 2022?
Kuo had previously explained that the new MacBook Air will feature a completely new design, including a display mini-LED it’s a Apple silicon processor more powerful. The analyst also identified a launch window around mid-2022, which he has now retracted in favor of the second quarter or early third quarter of next year, regarding the start of mass production of the new devices.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who reported that the new MacBook Air will feature a “thinner and lighter” casing, two USB 4 ports and a MagSafe charging connector. The leaker and the well-known youtuber Jon Prosser shared the renders of the alleged new MacBook Air, showing in particular that Apple plans to publish the laptop in different colors, replicating the strategy it adopts with the 24-inch iMac M1.
The latest MacBook Air update dates back to last November, the date on which the chip M1while maintaining the same design as the basic device. While many expect Apple to update several Macs in its silicon processor lineup before the end of this year, the MacBook Air doesn’t seem to be one of them for now.
Having said that we could also witness unexpected surprises, we just have to wait for official news.
