Apple announced during his event Unleashed the release date of macOS Monterey, the new version of its operating system for Mac and MacBook, which will arrive on October 25. Along with the new computer software, too iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, watchOS 8.1, tvOS 15.1 they get their first update (and not just a bug fix).

Apple announces the release of macOS Monterey

Last night, Apple announced its new laptops for professionals, the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inches. They have the new chip Silicon M1 (in version Pro e Max), which promises mind-boggling performance over last year’s Intel-based model. But to test it you also need a software that is up to it and Apple does not want to keep its users waiting. Already macOS Montere arrives on October 25thand.

The design and style are very reminiscent of Big Sur but there are several improvements in all aspects of the system. The most obvious perhaps is the new look of Safari. But there are also the Shortcuts for the Mac, the Quick Note. And above all the new Universal Control, which allows you to use a single mouse, trackpad and keyboard between various Mac or iPad devices. Or rather, the feature is big news from Monterey but it won’t come right away at launch: we will have to wait a few more weeks, according to what Apple has communicated.

We are consoled by the possibility of trying other new features such as AirPlay to Mac, it Spatial Audio in FaceTime. And the interesting SharePlay, which allows you to watch a streaming show in sync with other users, rather than listening to the same song.

In addition to the new Mac operating system, we will also see the first feature updates on iOS, watchOS, iPadOS and even tvOS. Next week will be busy for Apple engineers (and fans too): all operating systems update together and we will be able to test the upcoming novelties.
