Madame Web, the Sony Spider-Man spin-off film starring Dakota Johnson coming to Netflix, but when?
After the disappointing box office result, Madame Web is ready for its streaming debut. We remember that the film is to be considered as a spin-off of Spider-Man. However, it is not included in the Spider-Verse, Sony's work in progress universe in collaboration with Marvel Studios. The film is therefore to be understood as set in a parallel universe where Spider-Man is not present. The film is simply focused on the origins of Madame Web, it aims to explain the person Cassandra Web was before acquiring her powers and how she comes to become the heroine we know in the comics. The protagonist of the story, Madame Web, is played by Dakota Johnson, her first time playing the role of a superhero. Unfortunately, however, the film did not have the desired results at the box office. Despite this, the film is however arriving on the giant streaming platform, Netflix. But when is this arrival scheduled for?
Madame Web and the release date on Netflix
Netflix has announced the release date of Madame Web for May 14, 2024. However, the date has been temporarily confirmed only for the United States. In Italy we are still waiting for confirmation. In addition to the less than brilliant result at the box office, the film also had some resistance from critics. The film is led by an all-female cast and features different variations of Spider Woman. The protagonist, Cassandra Web, is able to see the future and on the big screen she has the face of Dakota Johnson. At her side we find three variations of Spider Woman played by Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced and Celeste O'Connor. In the film we get to know the girls well before they gain their powers, but we see glimpses of the future where they are a perfect trio of Spider-Woman.
