Maserati in Formula E: a now winning combination. After the triumph of Jakarta of last year, on March 30, 2024 the team took second place in the Tokyo Grand Prixthanks to the amazing performance of Maximilian Günther. An exciting podium for the German driver, who achieved his fifth career victory and gave the brand its second triumph in the electric series. The race, held on a “nervous” street circuit located near Tokyo Bay, was full of overtaking and spectacle. Günther took the victory starting from the front row, but behind the poleman Oliver Rowland. The British driver, on his third consecutive podium with Nissan, finished the race in second position, while the third step of the podium went to Jake Dennisreigning world champion, at the wheel of Porsche 99X Electric.
Maserati in Formula E: next meeting in Misano Adriatico
The general classification of the championship has not undergone major shocks, with Nick Cassidy (Jaguar TCS) which maintains the lead in the drivers' standings on equal points with Pascal Wehrlein (Tag Heuer Porsche). However, the triumph of the car manufacturer and Günther's performance demonstrate the competitiveness of the team and its ability to fight for victory.
The weekend in Tokyo was also full of news for the future of Formula E. Nissan has formalized its commitment to the series until 2030, becoming the first manufacturer to extend the agreement also for the Gen4the new generation of cars that will enter service in 2027. Furthermore, Lola Cars e Yamaha have announced their entry into the competition starting from the 2025-2026 season. The Italian appointment with Maserati in Formula E is set for Misano Adriatico, where ePrix numbers 6 and 7 will take place. Günther is ready to give his all to conquer another podium in front of the home crowd.
