With an announcement made today, Epic Games has confirmed that from Thursday 26 May numerous contents dedicated to Obi-Wan Kenobi will arrive on Fortnite. In addition to the inevitable skin we can expect a parachute, a backpack, a collection tool, various emotes and a loading screen. A dedicated tournament is also on the way.
The new items can be purchased on the in-game store both individually and in pack mode. Here are the items announced so far:
But that’s not all: the special will be held this Sunday (May 22) Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup, who will award some of these items before they go on sale on the in-game store. The Cup consists of a Battle Royale tournament in Duoin which lightsabers and E-11 blaster rifles will also return (already introduced on May 4 for just two weeks, on the occasion of Star Wars Day).
Competitors can play up to ten games within the three-hour window in their home region. Players will receive 25 points for a real win, 22 for finishing in second place up to one point for the first team to be eliminated. At the end of the tournament, the top 1250 players in Europe will win the Obi-Wan Kenobi In-Game Cosmetic Outfit and Back Bling. The complete tournament rules are available here.
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s arrival comes after two weeks of celebration that Fortnite held on the occasion of the Star Wars Day. The battle royale has in fact introduced themed clothes, lightsabers, blaster rifles and even stormtroopers NPCs. Some rumors also report that Darth Vader could also arrive in-game soon. According to other rumors for the season 2 finale, Mecha Team Leader will also return.
