Microsoft lancia Viva Engage, il social pensato per Teams thumbnail

Microsoft launches Viva Engage, the social network designed for Teams

In these days Microsoft launched a new feature for Teams users: Viva Engage, a sort of social portal within the communication App, which will allow you to share Stories to document the activity in the workplace. An option that aims to increase the success of Teams, which already counted for more in January 270 million monthly active users. On the other hand, the App is the core of Microsoft Office, contributing nearly 23% to the company’s $ 49 billion quarterly revenue.

We know that communication between colleagues in the office is rather boring. A constant exchange of emails, documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Precisely for this reason, Microsoft has decided to play down their working life with Viva Engage, a portal that will allow Teams users to share videos in short format – just like Instagram and TikTok -. “There was a real interest in using video as a richer way to express messages and thoughts within an organization, whether it is something that only serves to keep the team moving forward, whether it is to acquire or record meetings, or whether it’s a broader level within an organization, ”he said Dan Holme, who took care of the project. “Video allows people to express things in their own voice and captures much richer body language and signals.”

Therefore, users will now be able to record content for Viva Engage using their PC webcam, or through the App Teams o Yammer. Also, according to Holme, it will be possible add a PowerPoint file o a web link within the Stories. Although there is still no possibility to share this same video content on Instagram or TikTok as well. Despite this, it would appear that executives are already using the portal to share updates on their office life, such as customer meetings or weekend outings. Unlike other social platforms, however, Teams user Stories won’t disappear after 24 hours. In fact, they will remain visible on the creator’s profile until they are deleted. If you want to try Viva Engage, know that it will be available to all users by the end of the summer. Worth a try, right?
