Microsoft: Microsoft Edge update announced

Microsoft announces major Microsoft Edge update. “Collections” in Microsoft Edge undergoing major overhaul

The company Microsoft has just announced a package of huge improvements coming at collections in Microsoft Edge, as it wants to provide users with new features to manage and follow online content. First, the collections in Microsoft Edge will allow users to save images and videos. With the software giant explaining it will also add an option to share collections to “collaborate and brainstorm together”.

Microsoft (here for more on the company) says it is also launching a collection inspiration feed that will provide users with suggestions based on the content they have already added. Additionally, Bing-based visual search is making its way into collections as well.

Statements regarding the new Microsoft Edge update

Below are Microsoft’s first statements regarding the latest Edge update.

Microsoft Bing Visual Search is now also available when you hover your mouse over an image. Visual Search uses advanced computer vision technology to search for images instead of text. The hover update lets you easily search for similar items by hovering your mouse over an image found online, then clicking the Visual Search icon. For example, when you’re browsing a renovation blog and you come across a lamp you love, hover over Visual Search to find a similar one online. This is just another way Microsoft Edge can help you stay organized, but also help you find inspiration so you can do more of what you love,

explains the company.

The collections will also allow users to follow content creators from websites such as YouTube, Bilibili, and TikTok directly from Microsoft Edge. The feature will launch this month, and Microsoft says more websites will be supported in upcoming updates.

In addition to all the great features we’ve told you about, starting this month we’re also rolling out the ability to follow your favorite content creators on websites like YouTube, Bilibili, and TikTok. The launch will be limited to a few websites and more sites will be added in the future. To get started, make sure you’re signed in with your Microsoft account, then go to the address bar and click Follow. To see the sites you have followed, simply go to the Collections window on the right side of the browser and click on the Follow tab to see the latest updates,

Microsoft says.

The new features will be available in the desktop versions of Microsoft Edge.
