Misfits is one of the best-known teen drama and science fiction television series and follows the story of a group of misfits who, after being condemned to perform socially useful tasks, they obtain bizarre superpowers.
Known for the practically debut performances of actors such as Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) and Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy) it aired in Italy from 2011 to 2014 but it is still one of the most popular television series among lovers of products focused on groups of disadvantaged children, such as Skins for example.
Why see it?
The British critics have been very positive in receiving this series. Il Times gave the first series four stars out of five, describing it as a new combination of salty English street comedy and magical special effects. An online review of the Guardian affirms how the series is safe enough to function in its own universe by creating something new capable of showing real people and not the classic stereotype of the boy with antisocial behavior.
first season, counting only the E4 channel, reached an average of 707,500 viewers per episode. The second season reached more than double the number, reaching an average of 1,453,000 listeners, slightly surpassed by the third season with approximately 1,484,000 listeners per episode. Both the series and creator Howard Overman were nominated for the Royal Television Society Awards in March 2010. The series won the award BAFTA as best dramatic television series of 2010.

Misfits follows five delinquents working at a community center who are caught outdoors during a supernatural storm and, following this event, gain special abilities. Over the course of the episodes we see the boys dealing with their new powers but also with some enemieswhile they have to carry out the socially useful jobs that have been imposed on them.
The names of the main actors and actresses who are part of the cast of the TV series, mostly very young, are Iwan Rheon (Simon Bellamy), Robert Sheehan (Nathan Young), Lauren Socha (Kelly Bailey), Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Curtis Donovan), Antonia Thomas (Alisha Daniels), Matthew McNulty (Seth), Joseph Gilgun (Rudy Wade).
The series is made up of 5 seasons, each of which has on average between 6 and 8 episodes for a total of 37 episodes. In Italy, it aired from 2011 to 2014 on Fox and in Chiaro on Rai 4. The series was then available for Netflix but, to date, it is no longer part of the catalogue.
