With the release of iOS 15.2 Apple is implementing access to the low cost plan “Apple Music Voice“, First announced at this fall’s hardware event. The new service is designed for listening to music from HomePod mini, AirPods or other Apple devices. It works exclusively with Siri and is available at the price of just 4.99 € per month. Apple Music Voice: Music at your fingertips thanks to Siri
First of all, let’s clarify what Apple Music Voice really is: a music experience accessible exclusively by Siri, nothing more. Not surprisingly, users can now subscribe to Apple’s service simply by saying the words “Hey Siri activate my Apple Music trial period“, or by signing up through the App of the same name. By subscribing to the service at a cost of only € 4.99 per month, users will be able to access their favorite music using a any Apple device that supports Siri: CarPlay, HomePod mini, AirPod, iPhone e via dicendo.

While being cheaper, the Apple Music Voice plan allows subscribers to have access to the Apple Music catalog. That is over 90 million songs, tens of thousands of playlists, custom mixes and stations like Apple Music Radio. So it will be enough ask Siri for the singer, song or album you want to hear to start playback. Or, if you prefer, you can ask Siri to play a playlist or a genre of music saying phrases like “Hey Siri, play the Sunny Day playlist” or “Hey Siri, play something relaxing“.
In addition, subscribers to the service can also use the Apple Music App, albeit in a reduced way. In fact, there will be the possibility to access a “Listen now” screen, where all the music listened to recently will be collected, as well as a series of tips accessible directly via Siri. Added to this are also a “Radio” screen and a search function, although it will be possible to reproduce the results only using voice commands. Finally, the App also includes a section that helps users to optimize Siri for Apple Music. It will then be possible to give feedback to the voice assistant by saying “I like this song” or “I don’t like this song“. In this way Siri will learn about your musical tastes, so then it will be able to play your favorite music.
