The live action Naruto will be directed by the same director as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as announced by Lionsgate
Lionsgate will bring Naruto to the cinema in live action: he will be directing Destin Daniel Crettonalready seen in the direction of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringswho will write and direct the adaptation of the original manga created by Masashi Kishimoto.
The story follows teenage ninja Naruto Uzumaki, who dreams of becoming the protector of his community as hokage, the village ninja. The manga, launched in 1999, it became the fourth best-selling in the world with over 250 million copies and has been successfully adapted into TV series, films and video games. Lionsgate itself began developing a live action adaptation in 2015, with Michael Gracey directing but without success. Cretton commented

It was right after I saw one of his blockbuster movies, and I thought he would be perfect to direct Naruto. After enjoying his other films and realizing that his forte is creating real, people-centered dramas, I am convinced that there is no other director for Naruto. When I met him, I found an open-minded director, eager to hear my point of view, and I understood that we would be able to collaborate together during the production. Simply put, the Naruto live action movie will be a spectacular movie with lots of action and deep drama. I can’t help but be thrilled.
Arad Productions will be producing Avi e Ari Arad ed Emmy Yucon Jeremy Latcham, and Cretton and Jeyun Munfund’s Hisako. James Myers and Jon Humphrey will oversee Lionsgate’s side. Let us know in the comments what you think of this live-action adaptation.
