Recently, ESL FACEIT Group and FIBA announced the first official FIBA NBA 2K23 eSports series: let’s find out all the details together
The world of eSports is booming in Italy, as well as obviously internationally, and only yesterday we told you about AC Monza’s victory in the EA SPORTS eSuperCup against Juventus Dsyre, the cup that kicked off the eSerie A TIM 2023. reconfirmed after an excellent 2022 season that saw Turin triumph. Not just football though! Although in fact the most popular sport in Italy is that, internationally, basketball is still king. And it is just recently that ESL FACEIT Group and FIBA announced an official agreement to launch the first official competition dedicated to NBA 2K23 by 2K Games.
For those who don’t know, FIBA is the International Basketball Federation and is divided into four main regions (Europe, Asia, Africa, America). The tournament will include all four and will begin with seven events divided by region, totally online, in which thirty different national federations will be deployed, divided into six tranches. We recall that it is not the first tournament dedicated to basketball, considering that FIBA had always held two tournaments dedicated to NBA 2K20 and NBA 2K21, but the official nature and internationality that permeates this type of event makes it decidedly different from the past.

The President of Sports Games of ESL FACEIT Group, one of the most important companies worldwide for the eSports world, Roger Lodewick commented like this:
