Steven Knight also serves as executive producer, while Joe Strechay (See, The OA) is an associate producer and consultant on blindness and accessibility.
The synopsis is as follows:
Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, All the Light We Cannot See is a miniseries that follows the story of Marie-Laure, a blind French girl, and her father, Daniel LeBlanc, who escape German-occupied Paris with a legendary diamond to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Nazis. Hunted relentlessly by a cruel Gestapo officer who wants to take possession of the precious stone for his personal interest, Marie-Laure and Daniel soon find refuge in St. Malo, where they go to live with a solitary uncle who spreads clandestine broadcasts for the resistence. In this once idyllic seaside town, Marie-Laure’s path inevitably crosses that of an unlikely soul mate: Werner, a brilliant teenager enlisted by Hitler’s regime to track down illegal broadcasts, who instead possesses a secret bond with Marie-Laure. Laure and with her trust in humanity and her hope. Artfully weaving together the lives of Marie-Laure and Werner over the course of a decade, All the Light We Cannot See tells the story of the incredible power of bonds between people, a beacon of light that can guide us even in the darkest of times.
