Netflix chooses Microsoft for advertising on the platform

Last April Netflix had announced that it would introduce a cheaper but ad-supported version of its subscription. A cheaper subscription level than the current basic subscription (7.99 euros for a single device), to allow more people to stream the series.

Today Netflix, by the voice of the COO Greg Petersannounces that he has “chosen Microsoft as ours global partner for advertising and sales technology“. A choice due to the “ability to support all our advertising needs” and the “flexibility to innovate the technology and the sales plan over time, as well as the attention to the privacy of our members”.

Peters continues: “These are the very first days and we have a lot of work to do. But our long-term goal is clear: more choice for consumers e a premium and better than linear TV experience for advertisers ”.

Microsoft, for its part, explains with satisfaction that “all the announcements on Netflix will be available exclusively through the Microsoft platform. Today’s announcement also approves Microsoft’s approach to privacywhich is built on the protection of customer information ”.

There is currently no information on the cost of the service, nor on how much ‘intrusive’ will be advertising. These are all details that in all likelihood have yet to be approved. We will keep you updated as soon as there is more useful information.
